He previously served as senior pastor of Parkside Church in Waconia, Minn. “My heart is for people, so, as in every ministry position that we have served in we have been available for counseling and mentoring opportunities,” he said. “I love to visit with people in their homes, at a coffee shop, or in a hospital. I will preach as opportunity arises and look forward to each opportunity. My greatest aspiration is to help Whipple Heights achieve the mission that God is birthing in her through the vision that He is birthing in Taylor. Denny Sibert

Denny Sibert has attended Whipple for 30 years and has been an elder at various times for about 10 years, most recently since January 2008. He says the primary responsibilities of his role is shepherding, spiritual oversight and teaching. “I love to teach Adult Sunday school, particularly verse by verse expository style,” he said. Sibert is married with three grown children and two grandchildren. “I came to know the Lord at a young age, but drifted away,” he said. “After my teen years and a four year hitch in the U.S Navy, I began to feel the Spirit’s pull to return. It took several years leading me to Whipple Heights in 1978, and the rest, as they say, is history.”

Steve Wood

Steve Wood has attended the church for the past six years and can be found teaching Children’s Sunday School classes and working with Men’s Ministries. “I came to know the Lord at the age of 19 in the back of a bus on the way home from a basketball game. I was not raised in a Christian family, but with the positive influences of Christian teammates, I realized I needed a Savior. I gave my life to Christ that night about sixteen years ago. Since that night, I watched the Father constantly call me to walk closer with him and to trust Him more. I enjoy serving the Lord as elder at Whipple. I know there will be challenges this year, but I am so thankful that the Lord helps us in our weaknesses.”

Bob Crawford

Bob Crawford has attended Whipple Heights since about 1994. He has been involved in a variety of ministries during that time most recently Men’s Ministry. “I recognized my need for Jesus to be my Savior and asked Him into my life at about 9,” he said. “In college, I was challenged to make Jesus Lord of my life. He is married with two children and works as a math teacher at a local high school. “My passions are missions and Men’s Ministries. I like to help to support current missionaries, work in short term opportunities, and encourage others to experience missions locally and abroad. I also enjoy planning activities for men and encouraging them to grow in their faith.”
